I was wondering how much we are really spending on inkjet. It seems every time I need to print a photo, it requires a trip down to the geek store to shell out another $25.

The HP 51645a contains 42 milliliters and costs $32. That works out to $22 per ounce.

So 1 gallon contains 128 oz.

128 x $22 = $ 2816

That’s right. HP is making $ 2816 per gallon.

Now I must ask HP the question. Are you guys using some kind of rare animal skin ink only found in remote Himalayan mountains? I mean come on.

You guys are ripping us off.

Where’s my pencil and paper?
